The
Hudson House restaurant is situated in
the former village hall and jailhouse
in the quaint, but busy, Victorian village
of Nyack, NY. Downstairs in our restaurant
we serve lunch and dinner daily (except
Mondays), and offer contemporary American
cuisine.
The two erstwhile jail cells
remain and house the wine cellar, and
the walls and ceilings are covered in
the original pressed tin dating from the
1800s. Upstairs, where the village judge
held court, is an additional dining room
available for private parties of any occasion.
In warm weather, the large front doors
open to sidewalk dining. There is also
a back patio, for quieter "tête-à-têtes."
The Hudson House offers upscale dining in a beautiful
atmosphere, at moderate prices. Executive Chef Christopher Dunn's creative daily offerings
of fish, meats, pastas and poultry are fresh and innovative. Co-owner
and baker Matt Hudson's desserts are renowned in the tri-county area. (Ask
anyone about his Black Bottom Banana Cream Pie or his Butterscotch Pudding!)
Come to Nyack for a day of antiquing, lunch or dinner at the Hudson House.

Westchester and Hudson River Valley:
"Charismatic host" and co-owner/pastry chef Matt Hudson "is a doll," coo admirers at his "lively" Nyack New American, where "clever twists on bistro standards" are followed by "desserts that can't be beat"; the onetime village hall with its pressed tin ceiling and walls is now a "cozy, modern dining room" ("check out the jail-cell wine cellar"), while the bar scene adds to the "enjoyable" vibe.
